Today Rod picked me up in the morning to visit some nice beaches. He got hold of Jo's car for today so it was a nice opportunity to see things outside the city centre. We drove all the way up to the northern beaches and started out with Palm Beach. In between we stopped near the Spitt Bridge and had Fish'n Chips which where quit nice. Palm beach has, as many other beaches in the area, a crescent shape, darker coloured sand and surfers everywhere. Today's weather was sunny and warm. The beaches where not that crowded but you can see they still pull people into the water, even in winter time. During the day we went to see other beaches, like the Avalon Beach.
At around 4pm we headed our way back. We stopped by Rod's friend Jo to return the car. She was working on the weekend so Rod and I where lucky to get the car. We had a drink at the HHH hotel and they dropped me of at my hostel. It was goodbyes :/ (I'm not good at goodbyes) thanked them both for the nice weekend, especially you Rod! Thx again for the nice weekend! Enjoy the cookies :p
So back in my hostel I found my backpack where I left it, goody. I made goodbyes with Eric and went on to get my shuttle bus. Offcourse it didn't showed up, or I missed it (probably the case). I got a refund on the ticket, went with all my belongings to central station and took the train to the domestic airport. So now I'm sitting at gate 56 waiting for my plane. It's going to be a late night again. I'll be arriving in Darwin at about 2am, then need to find my way towards the hostel. Sigh I'm going to be glad when I see my bed. Tomorrow will be lazy. I'll spend the first day getting used to the temperature I guess. Still a few more hours...
Happy Birthday Mum! :D
