Got up early, asked the reception to get my backpack from the common storage room and started to pack all my laundry. I enjoyed a fast cereal breakfast and had a weird checkout without giving a key or bed sheets in return. I said goodbye to the few people that where up and went on towards the street waiting for my pickup.
The bus arrived a bit late, got up, welcomed everyone and off we went. For the next 2 and a half days we will be riding from Darwin to Alice Springs and getting to Alice Springs involves a lot of driving. We had a few stops on the way, having lunch or see a few sights but most of the time your just sitting looking at the vast landscape that seems to stretch into infinity. Boredom strikes while rolling over the Stuart Highway at about 110km/h. Tom, our driver, hands out a none-permanent-marker to counter that. Me and the other 8 passengers speed up time by using the windows as a playground for word games. The windshield is dived into sections and the names are placed inside of it. The section who catches the most flying critters at the end of the trip wins.
During our first day we had a swim in Edith Falls, a look at the Cutta Cutta Caves and ended up camping in Mataranka. We made taco's for dinner and crawled in our swags under the still so amazing night sky.
Hey Matthias,
ReplyDeleteLooks like everything is going great there on the 3th island of New Zealand ;-)
I love your pictures man, especially this one.
Keep up the good work, and enjoy!
G.
Thx man xD
ReplyDeleteBut it's hard to make a good picture everyday. It really takes effort. So I just end up shooting quick pictures most of the time.
