The Adelaide Show Grounds - 03/09/2009 17:16:11 - 18 mm - 1/100 - f/16 - ISO 200
Today I got up at 9 in the morning. I have had a fair amount of sleep for the last days. I'm not sure about my roomies cause I really cough badly during the night. I hope I don't wake em up every night.
The sun was shining so I give the park behind the University a try. I jumped in my dirty shorts and shirt, strapped on my hiking boots firmly and went for a run. There is lots of people running in the park. My run started at the uni back gates and made a big loop around the Torrens River. If you want to you could run all the way to the beach. I only ran for about 45minutes. Trying to run on the grass and dirt as much as possible so I tighten my ligaments again. My foot is not hurting that much but I feel it's still weak. The run felt good, I was surprised it went so well. I expected bad stamina and painful foot. Oh and my boots run great! xD
After the run I went to Woolworths to get food for the evening and for lunch. I bought some veggies, pasta, fruits, milk, SPAM :p and eggs. I ended up with to many items in to little and crappy plastic baggies. Yea, stuff dropped along the way back to the hostel... I took a shower and went to do my laundry in the hostel next door (cheaper). My nice Japanese roomie gave me the entering code and some soap, thx Ian. So I sneaked in at the back and did my laundry half the price I would pay in my hostel. To bad I choose the wrong program... Now I got clothes that are just a little less dirty but they smell nice! Note for later, take colour wash like everyone else.
I'm still wondering what to do next. In December I probably go to Thailand and meet up with my Belgian friend Kenzie. He will last there for about 3 weeks but I might stay longer. It's a cheap country and I want to give diving a try. But before that I will meet up with a friend in Gold Coast. I met her on the tour from Alice Springs to Adelaide. We might do Fraser Islands together.
I probably end up flying to Cairns and travel down towards Gold Coast. But I still have some time before I will take the flight. So today I thought it would be a good thing to get a job. There is this big festival going on, the Royal Adelaide Show. Some of the backpackers in my hostel told me about it and got a job there. It starts tomorrow so kinda late to apply for jobs. Anyway I went down to the fair grounds which is about 30-40min walk from my hostel. Everyone was busy doing last preparation. There are food stalls, rides, shops and many more. I put on my happy exciting face and start asking around for a job. 'Hey I'm Matt, I just arrived in Adelaide and I was wondering...' It took me some time but I got hold of a job. Hooray, (doing a little victory dance) I will try to sell band branded clothing, anime dolls, etc. It took me about 1 hour to get a job. It's not the kind of job I would apply for but hey it's money and who knows I might like it. The people seem nice. The deal is they will let me start tomorrow for half a day and see how I go. If it's all good I can work till the end of the festival, 10 days, and maybe get work and a ride into next town which will be Melbourne.
I just got a call, I got to be there at 7.00 instead of 9. Sigh...
well of to bed got to get up at 6.
