Seeing Kenzie again at the Bangkok airport - 01/12/2009 20:23:07 - 50 mm - 1/30 - f/1.8 - ISO 400
In the early morning Bernhard and me had breakfast. We left the hostel and headed towards Central Station. He will take the train to Waterfall just outside the city centre. He'll hitchhike the coast down towards Melbourne. A bit the same as I did but just with more time. Sigh... I wish I had more time. I hurried up to Gold Coast because of my Thailand adventure. Anyway we had our goodbyes and we will definitely meet again once we are back in Europe.
At customs in I noticed I forgot to put my pocketknife away in to my checked in backpack. Arhhh typical... I almost lost it again. It's the second swiss knife my sis gave me. Good thing I could send it to Melbourne in a small box. Phew couldn't imagine loosing it again.
The flight to Melbourne was quick, the delayed flight to Bangkok took 10ish hours. It was funny when I entered the plane. For the first time I heard Owl City playing, Fireflies. I think it's the newest song.
Been flying for a while now and the aircon is killing me, I feel my throat getting worse. Darn it... The long flight makes me think. Oz has been great so far. It's feels good and I think I never have been so relaxed in a country as in Australia. I really want to go back cause I feel there is still lots of honey in the pot.
So finally landed at 7:45 local time. I met Kenzie at the airport. We where happy to see each other after such a long time :D. Kenzie landed a few hours before and knew already how to get to the hotel. After a 50minutes bus drive we arrived at the train station where we had our first Thai dish. Fresh, tasty, thingly and yummy! Kenzie had a green curry which made my poor throat tingle and my eyes water. I had a none spicy noodle chicken based dish. Aroi maak!
Our River View Hotel is located at China Town near the Chao Phraya River. Kenzie leads me through the maze of dark little streets. Glad I didn't had to figure it out during night time. The streets are filled with little garages that seem to have their own speciality in hardware. Some of them have only chains or wheels or any other part that would come of a stripped down vehicle.
We went to bed at about 11pm in Oz it would be 3am... sleepy!
