Today I got up around 9am. I extended my stay, asked about some trip and tour info and walked towards the Botanical Garden. I stopped by a church and went inside to see how they do it over here. Nothing special, everything seems the same for as far as I can remember. After the church thing I continued my walk towards the garden. I grabbed a coconut that I found on the ground and tried to open it. It took me about half an hour but I succeeded to drink the juice and eat the flesh. Yeay! I felt a bit like a monkey, not because I was using tools to open the thing but because of the people staring at me. Anyway I stayed there for about the whole day hiding in the shade trying to avoid the burning midday sun.
I'm still wondering what I'll do after Darwin I think I'll head straight down, slowly making my way towards the centre. But the distances are so freaking huge. You can't get anywhere unless you are willing to drive for half a day. I hope I can hitch a ride with one of the other backpackers towards Katrina or maybe I should get my own car...
I cooked my own pot again this evening, it's good because it saves a buck or 2. Darwin is more expensive then Sydney so I kinda cooked my dinner for the 2 next days.
I'll try to go to the Aquascene tomorrow (thx for the tip Rod) and do some calls hoping to get a farm stay around the Darwin Top End area.
Ok it's way to late, I should get some sleep...
